The paramount chief of the Asante Asokore Traditional Area in the Ashanti Region, Nana Dr. Susubribi Krobea Asante, has called on Ghanaian youth to steer clear of drug abuse.
The advice was given during the 30th anniversary celebration of his enstoolment on the theme "30 years of leadership and development."
The Asokoremanhene advised the youth, especially those in his community, not to impose limitations on their lives.

He stressed that education is the key to success and urged youth to shun drug abuse and other unruly behaviors that could ruin their future.
He touted his accomplishments in the community, such as school buildings, a court, and other social facilities.
Nana Krobea Asante expressed gratitude to God for protecting him over his 30-year reign as Asokoremanhene.
The climax of the celebration was attended by Supreme Court Justice, His Lordship Dennis Adjei, National House of Chiefs President, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi, statesman, Andrews Kwame Pianim, District Chief Executive for Sekyere East, Ibrahim Adams, political party officials, clergymen and clergywomen, and other chiefs from the Asante Kingdom.
Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi, President of the National House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, admired Nana Dr. Susubribi Krobea Asante's leadership.

He noted that the paramount chief of the Asokore traditional area serves as a model for many Ghanaian chiefs and leaders across different sectors.
Justice Dennis Adjei praised Nana Dr. Susubribi Krobea Asante's role in the judiciary service, saying he deserves celebration.
A statesman and renowned economist, Mr. Andrews Kwame Pianim, who chaired the event, preached tolerance and stressed the need to live in harmony with people of diverse backgrounds and cultural differences.

He urged the people to team up with their chief to develop the community to better their lives.
He therefore applauded the Asokoremanhene for his commitment to community and national development.
According to him, Nana Dr. Susubribi's legacy in leading the committee of experts that formulated proposals for the drafting of the 1992 Constitution has continued to impact the Republican era of Ghana and beyond and is noted in African governance reform history.

He added that it is a legacy that has continued to inspire similar models on the continent.
The District Chief Executive for Sekyere East District, Ibrahim Adams, in his speech, commended the paramount chief for his commitment to the development of his community and its surroundings.
He noted that the traditional authority was an integral part of the system, which could not be overlooked in terms of efforts toward development.

He urged the traditional rulers to continue in that spirit of unity and peace and to keep championing the district’s development agenda.
He therefore appealed to Nana Dr. Susubribi Krobea Asante to help advocate for upgrading the Sekyere East District to a Municipal Assembly.
