The contentious intersection of national security, economic protectionism, and food sovereignty will take centre stage on Saturday, 7th March 2026, as Joy Prime hosts an exciting edition of Prime Insight.
The broadcast, scheduled for 7:00 am to 9:00 am, comes at a time of heightened regional tension and domestic economic anxiety, following President Mahama’s latest executive directive to ban the land transit of rice and other essential commodities.

The move, aimed at curbing smuggling and bolstering local production, has sent shockwaves through the West African trade corridor, already reeling from surging oil prices and Middle East-related airspace closures.
Beyond the rice ban, the panel will scrutinise the Government’s Progress Report on Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL).
Host Blessed Sogah will lead a high-profile panel featuring some of the country’s most vocal stakeholders in the trade and political sectors.
Viewers can catch the live debate on Joy Prime, available on DStv channel 281 and GOtv channel 124.
The programme will also be streamed live across the station's social media platforms.
