Kwaku Acheampong, a drinking bar operator, was yesterday remanded into police custody for allegedly having anal sex with a 16-year-old boy.
Charged with unnatural carnal knowledge, Acheampong has pleaded not guilty and is to reappear on March 4.
The prosecutor, Inspector I.A.A Ahor, told the court presided over by Georgina Mensah-Datsa that the victim had deserted his parents and was living with Acheampong as his guardian at Nungua in Accra.
The prosecutor said Mr. Richard Amankwah, the complainant, resided in the same area with the accused.
On February 14 this year, the complainant went to Acheampong's drinking bar to purchase a sachet of water but found that the place was closed.
The prosecutor said the complainant however heard an unusual noise and that aroused his curiosity. He therefore peeped through the window and to his surprise, he saw the accused person and the victim naked with the accused on top of the victim.
The complainant went to call a witness and when they arrived, they saw the accused busily sodomising the victim.
The complainant and the witness left the seen and went to lodge a complaint with the police, who later issued a medical form to the victim to go to the hospital after arresting the accused person.
Inspector Ahor said the accused person, in his caution statement, admitted the offence and stated that the sexual act had been going on for a long time.
According to the prosecutor, the victim also identified the cocoa butter pomade allegedly used by the accused to smear his male organ before the act.
