Boa Amponsem Senior High Technical School has secured qualification for the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Championship after a commanding performance in Contest Five of the Central Regional Qualifiers.
The Dunkwa-on-Offin-based school amassed 62 points to emerge convincing winners, comfortably defeating Oguaa Senior High Technical School, Obiri Yeboah Senior High School and Breman Asikuma Senior High School.
At the end of the contest, the scores stood as follows:
- Boa Amponsem SHTS – 62 points
- Oguaa SHTS – 33 points
- Obiri Yeboah SHS – 21 points
- Breman Asikuma SHS – 20 points
Boa Amponsem SHTS asserted its dominance from the opening rounds, combining speed, accuracy and consistency to build a lead that its rivals were unable to overturn.
Despite determined efforts by the other schools to narrow the gap, Boa Amponsem remained composed throughout the contest to seal a convincing victory and secure automatic qualification to the national championship.
The result adds Boa Amponsem SHTS to the growing list of schools from the Central Region that have booked places at the 2026 NSMQ Championship.
The Central Regional Qualifiers continue with more contests as schools compete for the remaining qualification slots to Ghana's premier science and mathematics competition.
