As pupils across the country prepare for their basic education certificate exams, those from the Sashieme Basic School in the Volta Region have a double ambition set before them.
Apart from their individual ambitions to pass and get admission into the best Senior High Schools, they also have the responsibility to change the record of being the worst performing school in the Keta Municipality, at least as far as the 2015 exams is concerned.
According to Joy News' Joseph Opoku Gakpo, the school recorded zero per cent in last year's exams.
Headmaster of the school S. Y. Kusorgbor said he was surprised the students performed the way they did.
But reflecting on the poor results, he explained the students lacked discipline and aimed at 'apo' [cheating]. "They misbehaved and don't listen to teachers. When I organise extra classes for them they don't come," he stated.
But the current badge of students are aiming to change the story about Sashieme Basic School.
"As for my badge we are trying to change the zero per cent to 100 percent," one of them told Gakpo.
Another said she is aiming to be one of the best students after the exams.
The Keta MCE Sylvester Tonyeva believes there will be a turn around this year.
Over 400,000 pupils across the country are writing this year's BECE.
The West African Examination Council, organisers of the exams hope there will not be leakage scandal disrupting this year's exams as it did in last year's.
A number of security measures have been taken including flying the exam papers to the various examination centres to prevent possible cases of leakage.
The first paper written on Monday is English language. So far there has not been reports of leakage.
