Ebenezer Assifuah’s ill-luck with injuries has yet again robbed him of a chance with the Black Stars.
The FC Sion striker has been ruled out of Ghana’s double-header friendlies with Senegal and Mali next week in France.
Supersport has confirmed that Assifuah’s void has been filled by a late invitation on Monday to his 2013 Fifa U-20 World Cup partner and Atalanta forward, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom.
“Yes, we have received an invitation for Richmond to join the Black Stars in France for next week,” his agent, Oliver Arthur confirmed to supersport.com on Tuesday.
“He is currently on his way to the airport to join the national team camp,” he said.
Boakye-Yiadom’s last stint with the Black Stars was at the 2013 Afcon in South Africa.
Ghana plays Senegal on March 28 before the encounter with Mali on March 31.
Meanwhile, Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire have released forward David Accam to join the Ghana national team camp after gettiing a late invitation.
