Gloria Adjapong, an official of the Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC), is in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to assist with investigations into how confidential documents of investors were found in her possession.
BNI operatives picked Madam Adjapong up on Thursday after they searched her mobile phone, laptop and her home and retrieved confidential documents relating to the Office of the President and some key investors.
Photographs about activities of GIPC, invoices and documents belonging to the Council were also found in the possession of the suspect.
The arrest, according to Joy News sources, may also be linked to leaked documents relating to contacts of sponsors and volunteers who campaigned for President Mahama during the electioneering campaign.
Reports say when Madam Adjapong was asked about the photographs and the documents, she allegedly said they were taken by mistake.
Joy News’ Elton John Brobbey who has been following the story said his sources told him Gloria Adjapong spent the night in a BNI cell.
