A seven year old boy, early Friday morning drowned after a heavy downpour in Ejisu, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Kojo Asare reportedly fell into a big gutter near his house and was carried away.
Luv FM’s James Jimmy Cliff reported that the 30 year old mother of the deceased who was drying her washed cloths in the rain heard shouts from neighbors about a drowning young boy.
She therefore run to scene only to see her boy being carried away by the flood.
Cliff said the gutter was too deep for any of the neighbours to attempt to rescue the young boy.
He added that the gutter flows into a nearby stream so the neighbours followed through to the stream to attempt to rescue the boy. But the little boy died before getting to the stream.
His body has been retrieved for burial.
