Brighton and Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler has expressed his delight with the club's decision to extend Tariq Lamptey's contract.
Lamptey signed a new one-year deal, which will see him stay at the club until June 2026.
The 24-year-old has been a squad member at Brighton since his arrival from Chelsea in 2020, as he scored three goals and provided two assists across all competitions last season.
The Ghanaian's game time was restricted due to injuries, missing the latter part of the season.
Speaking after the two parties agreed to the one-year extension, Hurzeler said: "We’re delighted Tariq is staying with us. He wants to help the team achieve our targets and gives us great options in wide areas."
"We are looking forward to Tariq being part of our journey next season."
The right-back made his Albion debut in 2020 after joining from Premier League rivals Chelsea, and has made 122 appearances for the club, scoring five goals and providing 12 assists.
