Black Stars coach Otto Addo has visited injured defender Tariq Lamptey in Italy ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The right-back sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while playing for Fiorentina.
The former Brighton defender has already undergone successful surgery and is expected to be sidelined for about six months.
As a result, Lamptey will miss Ghana’s World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic at the Stade d'Honneur de Meknes in Morocco on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and the home game against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium four days later.
Addo has also named a 24-man squad for the two fixtures.
The list includes two debutants - midfielder Prince Owusu of Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC and Kojo Peprah Oppong of French club OGC Nice.
Regulars such as goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, defender Alexander Djiku, midfielders Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus, and Captain Jordan Ayew have also been included.
