The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, together with the Service Chiefs, paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, at the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in Accra on Monday, 3 January 2025.
The visit served as an opportunity to formally welcome the Minister and strengthen collaboration between the Ministry and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
During the meeting, General Oppong-Peprah and the Service Chiefs assured Dr Omane Boamah of their unwavering commitment to national security and the defence of Ghana’s territorial integrity.

They highlighted key operational priorities and ongoing security initiatives, reaffirming their readiness to work closely with the Minister to address emerging security challenges.
Dr Omane Boamah expressed his appreciation for the visit and commended the Ghana Armed Forces for their professionalism and dedication to safeguarding the nation.

He emphasised the importance of cooperation between the Ministry and the military leadership in achieving Ghana’s defence objectives, pledging his full support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s security infrastructure.
The visit marked the beginning of a strengthened working relationship between the Defence Minister and the military leadership.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Ghana’s defence and security agenda, ensuring the continued stability and safety of the nation.
