The Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) has provided the Peki-Dzake Evangelical Presbyterian Junior High School in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region with a 3-unit classroom block.
This is to augment the infrastructure of the school and ensure a conducive environment is made available for teaching and learning so as to enhance academic performance.
The provision of the classroom block was occasioned by a rainstorm which wreaked havoc on a dilapidated structure housing the Peki Dzake E.P JHS.
Citizens of Peki in the diaspora led a fundraising campaign during which they lobbied the Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA)) to help construct the classroom block.
In the spirit of philanthropy, CEANA sponsored the project and handed it over to the school authorities after completion.
The president of CEANA, Dr. Tsatsu Nyamadi underscored his outfit's objective of undertaking development projects in deprived communities in the areas of health, and education among others to make the world a better place for the less privileged.
He entreated the community to identify the classroom block as their property and implement the best maintenance culture to ensure a prolonged lifespan.

He advised the pupils to take their education seriously, as it is the path that can lead to becoming successful citizens and contribute to the future development of the country.
“Your parents will send you to school but the only thing you can do for yourself is learn and pass your exams to become future leaders”, he said.
The South Dayi District Chief Executive, Godwin Dadzawa lauded CEANA for the initiative; adding that it was targeted at restoring the glory of the Peki Traditional Area in the education sector.
He underscored his vision to raise the standard of education in the district and promised to construct a teachers bungalow for the Peki-Dzake E.P Basic School.
“I am promising you that before the year ends, I will construct a teachers bungalow here for the teachers so they can have easy access to the school and the pupils”, he said.
