A Senior Divisional Chief of Alavayno, Togbe Fiaya VI has admonished his subjects not to allow anybody to influence them to engage in electoral violence.
He warned that any individual caught perpetuating any form of act to disrupt the peace in the Alavanyo Traditional Area would not be spared.
He was speaking at his introduction ceremony in Alavanyo Kpeme, in the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta Region.
“If the laws are made and the citizens don’t abide or don't go by the laws, then who are the laws made for? The laws are made for us to regulate our lives so I am urging all meaningful citizens of Alavanyo to promote peace before, during, and after the 2024 general elections”, he said.

Togbe Fiaya VI is envisioned to maintain the peace currently being enjoyed in Alavanyo.
Installed a Divisional Chief Alavanyo Wudidi and Left Wong Chief to the Paramountcy, he was pessimistic that Alavanyo would become one of the most developed areas in the world during his reign.
“Before I was enstooled and legitimized, we went through some litigation, I want to urge all citizens of Alavanyo Wudidi to calm their nerves down and preach the word peace because it is only through unity that we will have development.
:Our community has lacked development over some decades. As a young chief, one of my aspirations is to make sure that during my tenure, Alavanyo Wudidi sees the best of development in the world”, he said.
The National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Hohoe, Worlanyo Tsekpo entreated the youth to be concerned about the development of the Alavanyo Traditional Area.
“I want to plead with the youth to take a cue from what the chiefs did in building peace. Let us forget about the past. We all want the development of Alavanyo. We the politicians can not operate without the chiefs”, he said.

The Alavanyo Traditional Authorities believe continuous peace in the area would inform the Ministry of Interior to ease the curfew imposed on the area.
The Ministry renewed the curfew hours imposed on Alavanyo and Nkonya Townships from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am effective Sunday, June 23, 2024.
It also reiterated a ban on all persons in the two towns and their environs from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons in the area.
