The Operations Director of Berekum Chelsea Nana Oduro Sarfo has indicated that, the venue change of their CAF Champions League opener against Zamalek will not affect the team’s performance on Sunday.
According to sources, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) asked for the venue change from the Berekum Golden City Park to the Accra Sports stadium due to the absence of certain facilities in Berekum.
There are fears the switch could affect Chelsea’s chances of making a winning start to their campaign but that has been assuaged by the club’s Operations director Oduro Sarfo.
“This is Ghana and we will beat them wherever we play the game”. He told JOY Sports
“We are making arrangements for the fans in Berekum to travel to Accra for the game”.
“The management, technical team and players have no problem at all as we seek to win the game on Sunday”.
Berekum Chelsea became the first Ghanaian team in six years to make it this far in the CAF Champions league.
