Cutlass wielding men have invaded the collation centre in the Wassa East District of the Western Region during collation of polling station results.
Polling agents of political parties, electoral officers and political party supporters took to their heels as the men brandished their weapons at the centre.
In a rather bizarre twist, the men did not harm anybody, neither did they steal any ballot box.
Joy News correspondent Benjamin Bray reported that the men destroyed one ballot box but did not tamper with its content.
The men escaped before the arrival of the police.
It is not clear yet who were behind the attack or the motive for the attack.
The Wassa East constituency is held by the governing NDC even though the margin of victory in the last election was marginal.
