Berekum Chelsea recorded a convincing 2-0 victory over Bibiani GoldStars in a Ghana Premier League Week 20 encounter at Golden City Park on Sunday.
The match was defined by clinical finishing from the home side, with Dominic Frimpong opening the scoring in the 12th minute, setting an early tempo that GoldStars struggled to match.
The result was effectively sealed shortly after halftime when Prince Anane doubled Chelsea’s advantage in the 49th minute, leaving the visitors with a mountain to climb in the second half.
The win provides a significant boost for Berekum Chelsea’s relegation battle, as they sit 14th on the table with 23 points, just outside the drop zone.
For GoldStars, the defeat sees them drop to sixth with 34 points from 20 games.
Berekum Chelsea will look to carry this momentum into their next fixture, an away trip to face Basake Holy Stars, while Bibiani GoldStars must regroup quickly ahead of their home match against All Blacks.
