Deputy Minority Leader, Ambrose Dery is proposing a bill that will allow individual members of the house to submit their proposals to parliament. He said the situation where bills are only tabled by the government is not a complete representation of the people. Mr Ambrose Dery said he would have loved to table a bill in support of women representation but he is constrained because by the current arrangement any bill with financial implications can only be tabled by the executive. The Lawra/Nandom MP said he had applied part of his share of the MPs’ Common Fund to women issues in his constituency, explaining: “My priority area is education so what I have done is try to use my common fund to assist students to pay school fees.” Source: Joy News/Ghana
