‘’Suame Magazine’’ 

This mind blowing industrial hub is regarded as the largest artisan engineering cluster in the Sub-Saharan-African and West African Region.

Its home to  f over 200,000 people and approximately 12,000 shop-owning proprietors. The main occupation here is vehicle repairs and metal works.

A visit to this site shows a  vast array of vehicle parts and many mechanics and engineers working hard to fix mechanical car problems as well as invent new modules introducing new technologies that made vehicular transport in Ghana one of its kind.

Some of the metals salvaged from old beat up cars are renovated into many artistic items for decorations.

One notable product is the  prototype robust vehicle called the ‘’SMATI Turtle 1’’, intended for use in rough terrains in Africa. It's designed and manufactured by artisans of Suame.

They completed it with local tools and was unveiled in April 2013.

Rattray Park

This is a modern recreational and amusement green park in Kumasi, Ashanti one of the great regions of Ghana.

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) constructed this park in its attempt to reinstate Kumasi as the Garden City of West Africa.

It was inaugurated by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana and the Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II in June, 2015.

The Park gets its etymology from Captain Robert Sutherland Rattray, a Scottish who was the Assistant Colonial Secretary in the Gold Coast and clerk to the Legislative Assembly of Accra back in 1919.

The park holds uncommon  facilities like an artificial lake, a golf cart, Wi-Fi connection, children's playground, a gym and a huge dancing fountain which is the first of its kind in the country.

There are also other amenities like restaurants and cafeterias where you can taste the Ghanaian mouthwatering dishes. It is a destination of great amusement that has something great for every visitor.  

At night you see the colourful display of lighting mixed with the dancing fountain and in the day you can enjoy the greens and peaceful ambience.

Although not particularly situated at Suame, this Park is about 3 kilometres from Suame and serves all the towns and cities close-by.

Kejetia Market 

the legendarily busy Kejetia Market is a destination by itself. The Kumasi Central market is considered as the largest open air market in West Africa with a massive 45,000 stores and stalls. T

he Market is home to various products and services ranging from foodstuff to, clothing, building materials, stationery and other commodities.

There is a general consensus that when you are in Kumasi, you can get anything you want at the famous Kejetia Market. The market is very close to Suame and a supply to  all the towns and cities in the Ashanti region.

Many tourists go to the Kejetia market to shop for artefacts and paraphernalia. Others who intend to stay a bit longer here, shop for foodstuff and other personal items.
