The Northern Regional Chairman of the Democratic Freedom Party, Alhaji Yushawu has predicted that there would be a run-off in the 2008 elections in which the DFP would either contest against the ruling New Patriotic Party or the main opposition National Democratic Congress.
He said that the party was poised for action and would spring a surprise in the political party’s supporters and footsoldiers to intensify their membership drive to woo more members for the party.
Alhaji Yakubu made the prediction at the joint inauguration of the Tamale South interim constituency executives of the party in Tamale on Saturday.
The Tamale North Constituency executives include: Iddrisu Abu Abubakari- Chairman, Alhassan Naporo Siliboma-Vice Chairman, Iddrisu Adam- Secretary and Madam Mary-treasurer.
The Tamale Central constituency executive is made up of Saaka Mahama Takaro, Ali Machel vice chairman, Dada Napari, secretary and Aminu Tahirum-treasurer.
Emmanuel Alhassan Mahama, first vice chairman of the DFP impressed on the constituency executives to work hard to win more people into the party, adding that the retention of their positions would depend on the seriousness they attach to their work.
