DigiExt, an agricultural technology company has launched its tissue manufacturing company.
According to a co-founder, Isaac Osei, his outfit seeks to add value to the agriculture sector, hence setting up a tissue manufacturing company to convert agric waste into a household necessity.
“This is the scale-up of our tissue manufacturing line of business from a small prototype to an actual midsize business with a strong traction. It was born from an agricultural technology challenge.
"The goal was to add value to our farmers so we decided that the agricultural waste that we take for granted, we will convert it into a valuable product and tissue product was the go-to because it is fast-moving,” he stated.

The management of agricultural waste has become very important because of the negative effects of the inappropriate disposal of yields on the environment.
The resource recovery from agricultural waste which converts waste into available resources can reduce the waste and new resource consumption.

Mr Osei explained that DigiExt diversified into making tissues in view of this, saying Ghana’s tissue industry is a viable one.
The co-founder indicated that his outfit seeks to support startups along the value chain.
“We’re hiring, we want to impact the youth and women. We have programmes to empower them financially. So we invite them to come to visit us, write to us and visit our social media platforms. They should reach out to us,” he said.
