Brand Director and Consummate Marketer, Regina Ofori has urged content creators seeking sponsorship to desist from duplicating their proposals for different companies.
She alleged that the majority of content creators make copies of one proposal, change the addresses, and send it to the various companies for sponsorship.
This, she said, makes sponsors identify gaps in the proposal, thereby blocking their chances of getting the sponsorship.
She made these remarks at the third edition Joy FM’s Showbiz Roundtable: A Thought Leadership Forum held at Labadi Beach Hotel on Saturday while discussing how to explore the dynamics of sponsorship in the creative Space.
"The same platform can deliver different products in different ways. So, we still have a lot of content creators on the same platform; let’s say you’re taking this to a water company, a soap company, and a telecommunications company with the same content. All that change is just to delete and replace the name. So, it’s the same layout, and that’s the reason why sometimes they’ll make a mistake, and when you’re reading, instead of the soap, you see water in the body of the Email," she said.
She has suggested that content creators should inculcate the habit of properly representing sponsors’ brands by proving to the product owners that they are capable of marketing the product on their behalf. This will enable managers consider their requests.
She further added that the requests and benefits in the proposals of content creators need to be reciprocal so that sponsors will also gain equal advantages.
As to whether there is a specified format to present a proposal, she said, "No, it depends on what you’re showing me. So if it’s an experiential proposal, I need to see the experience, but if it’s not, then a word document is enough."
All these, according to her, guide the sponsor to be able to fit into the planning process.
She urged all content creators to consider their proposals as their curriculum vitae (CV) to any targeted organisation and ensure they know their goals for every year.
‘Showbiz Roundtable’ was powered by Showbiz A-Z and supported by Joy Entertainment.
