The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Boamah Otokunor says polls conducted for elections are best carried out online.

According to him, online polls are devoid of external influences as compared to regulated polls organised by individual bodies or organisation.

“Any serious-minded person who believes in polls and understands research will go for the online polls. The results from the online polls have been very interesting.

"With online, you do not have the team leaders determine the outcomes."

His comment follows a survey conducted by Research Consortium, iRIS which states that the NDC might not win the elections come December 7.

Mr. Otokunor questioned the methodology used by the Consortium and stated that it was not the best approach.

According to Mr. Otokunor, the Consortium focused on strongholds of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to arrive at its result.

"The Methodology used in research are very key because when you get it wrong, the entire credibility of the polls that you have run is gone."

"When you look from 2016 the NPP is holding those seats and yet the survey targets those seats as constituencies that you're going to pick polls from, you are likely to introduce a major bias.

"I think that is one major flaw on this research the researchers have to look at," he said.

According to him, the control researchers have flawed the purpose of the survey and did not give an accurate representation of the people.

"The more you control the number, area, constituency and electoral area and community, the more you introduce bias.

"Several papers have been released saying the polls and data collected online appears to be more representative and highly randomized," the Deputy General Secretary stated
