Ex-Detective Sergeant Mohammed Akambonga Musah, 58, who took part in investigating the murder of the three high court judges and a military officer under the PNDC regime, has voluntarily offered himself to serve the nation once again.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency on Friday in Accra, he said, his decision was in response to Nana Akufo-Addo's (flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party) vision to increase the strength of personnel in the Service through the services of retired officers.
Nana Akufo-Addo has indicated that under his presidency, the number of police force would increase by 25,000 in addition to engaging 200 retired police officers to help clamp down the insurgence in crime.
Ex Detective Sergeant Musah, a native of the Upper East Region, said he retired prematurely from active service on February 9, 1991.
He said: "I was one of the detectives, who were attached to the Special Investigation Board instituted by the PNDC government to investigate the killings of the three high court judges and the retired army major.”
In reaction to the Nana Akufo-Addo, Mr Musah said: "I was touched by your declaration to Ghanaians.
"I have, therefore, whole heartily decided to pledge myself and work for the police service as a volunteer under your administration for twelve months as my contribution to the success of your government," he said.
