Former president John Kufuor has taken delivery of a stool belonging to the famed Asante warrior and Queen Mother, Yaa Asantewaa.
He is expected to present it to the Asantehene in the coming days.
The stool was taken away by the British after they battled the Asantes in 1900.
It was presented to former President Kufuor over the weekend during the 700th anniversary celebrations of Exeter College.
Frank Agyekum, spokesperson for Mr. Kufuor said an alumnus of the college in whose possession the relic was, gave it to the school which in turn handed it over to the former president.
He said a number of Ashanti artifacts were taken away by the British which have not been retrieved.
