FC Beauty College has launched a state-of-the-art student salon for students who under-take courses in the College. The launching comes days after Ghana’s leading cosmetology and beauty therapy school was duly registered with the Ghana Education Service Secondary Division as an option for candidates to choose to study Cosmetology and Beauty Therapy. The salon is the first of its kind in Ghana and is expected to impact the studies of its students greatly. Management of the institution is also hoping that the salon would offer the students hands-on experience before they get into mainstream industry practice. Led by Mrs. Grace Amey Obeng, Medical Aesthetician, proprietor and CEO of the FC Group of Companies, under which the FC Beauty College is wholly-owned, the college continues to offer hope and inspiration to many of Ghana’s youths. Till date, some 10,000 students have passed through the college, acquiring workable skills in the process in various fields of cosmetology and beauty therapy. “Out of this institution would come the cosmetologists who would help shape the future of the industry in Ghana,” Grace Amey Obeng said at the launch. The FC Beauty College was started in 1999 at the Lutheran School in Accra with some three students. Today, it has outgrown its initial challenges and become the preferred school for most young people. With an annual intake of 600 students, the college runs basic and advanced diploma specialist programs all year round with customized course options. Story by Obed Boafo
