The Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has revealed that Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson will deliver a candid assessment of Ghana’s economy and outline a comprehensive recovery plan to address the challenges inherited from the previous administration.
Speaking on the upcoming economic presentation, Mr Kwakye Ofosu emphasised the government's commitment to transparency, contrasting it with what he described as the deceptive economic reporting of the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
"They would know all about truthfulness, given the falsehoods they churned out yearly to cover up the rot and mismanagement they were superintending when they were in power.

"But this government is one that chooses to be honest and upfront about the issues, and that is what will inform how economic policy is developed and implemented," he stated in an interview on Joy FM's Top Story on Monday, March 10.
His comment follows the Member of Parliament for Ofoase/Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, urging the government to be truthful in its economic reporting.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah stressed that Ghana’s economic realities should not be distorted for political gain.
In response, Mr Kwakye Ofosu noted that the Finance Minister’s address will provide a clear picture of Ghana’s current financial position, detailing what the government inherited and the steps being taken to stabilise the economy, reduce inflation, and promote sustainable growth.
“For tomorrow, the Finance Minister is going to make a candid case of where we are as a country in terms of our economy, what we inherited, and what will be done going forward to get us out of the terrible situation that the NPP left,” he added.
