Assault against persons perceived to be witches is a real concern.
Especially in the northern parts of Ghana, some individuals have elected to be self-styled professionals at labelling others as such.
Due to the low education rate and sensitization, the victims at the receiving end of the accusation suffer all sorts of violence.
Some of them, mostly women, have sustained various degrees of injury, while others have died in the process.
For some reason, these perpetrators get away with these heinous crimes even while some residents keep mute for fear of stigma.
On the back of this, JoyNews’ Joojo Cobbina has set out to understand the rationale behind the development and why these accusers still walk free.
These answers will be summed up in an upcoming documentary dubbed “Finding The Witch Hunters.”
