The Deputy Minister for Defence, Brogya Gyamfi, has reiterated the government’s dedication to resourcing Ghana’s security agencies to operate at full strength, especially as the festive season approaches.
Speaking during a massive 'Show of Force' exercise through the streets of Accra, Mr Gyamfi emphasised that the government remains committed to modernising the nation’s security infrastructure.
“Government is fully committed to equipping our security services with the tools and logistics they require to boost efficiency and ensure the safety of all Ghanaians,” he said.

The large-scale operation undertaken jointly by the Ghana Armed Forces and the Police Service, with support from the Immigration Service, Fire Service, and the Customs Division, formed part of heightened security preparations ahead of Christmas.
More than 140 security vehicles and 55 motor riders rolled through the capital, drawing public attention along major routes.
Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, cautioned criminals against attempting to exploit the festive period.

“We want to caution all criminal-minded individuals to desist from unlawful activities. The Police Service is fully prepared to track down anyone who attempts to disturb the peace,” he said.
Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, noted that the Show of Force forms part of sustained security operations throughout the holidays.
“Sustaining these operations is crucial. Our next major exercise is scheduled for December 23. We are committed to ensuring the safety and protection of all Ghanaians during the Christmas celebrations.”

Security agencies say the pre-Christmas drills are intended to boost public confidence, deter criminal activity, and assure Ghanaians of maximum protection during the festive season.
