Five facts on Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals ahead of the matches in Equatorial Guinea this weekend:
The 48 Cup of Nations quarter-finals between their introduction in 1992 and 2013 have produced 113 goals at an average of 2.35 per match.
Spectators at the 2008 tournament in Ghana were treated to a quarter-finals goal fest with 16 in the four matches.
In one of those games, Salomon Kalou bagged a brace as Ivory Coast trounced Guinea 5-0 to create a record victory margin for a quarter-final.
Eight of the 48 quarter-finals have been decided by penalty shootouts with the most dramatic ending in a 12-11 victory for Ivory Coast over Cameroon nine years ago.
Nigeria, shock non-qualifiers for the 2015 Cup of Nations, have been the most successful quarter-finalists with eight victories followed by Ghana (six) and Ivory Coast and Mali (five each).
