The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has confirmed that Kotoka International Airport (KIA) is unaffected by the ongoing global IT outage disrupting operations at numerous airports and airlines worldwide.
Industries across the globe, including airlines, banks, retail outlets, and media firms, are currently facing a significant IT outage.
This has resulted in grounded flights and widespread delays, especially among major U.S. airlines.

Although Microsoft has assured that the issue has been resolved, problems persist, with blue error screens continuing to appear on public displays across the U.S. and beyond.
In a statement released on Friday, July 19, GACL management clarified that KIA has not been impacted by this disruption and that all flights are operating according to their schedules.
“We would like to assure the general public that Kotoka International Airport’s IT systems are intact. However, due to the global nature of the glitch, some flight delays and interruptions may be experienced from countries affected by the glitch, which may have a slight impact on Accra”, the statement read.
Out of the 24 international airlines operating at KIA, only one has had to cancel some of its scheduled flights.
“All other operations are uninterrupted and on schedule as usual”, the statement concluded.
