The Ahanta language, spoken in the Western Region, is one of the languages identified as being at risk of extinction.

This is because many people are unable to write or speak the language.

Through songs, a group is trying to keep the Ahanta language in the minds and on the lips of people, especially those within the area.

In the first of our series of stories to celebrate Ghana month, JoyNews travelled to Takoradi to meet the people behind the choir.
