The Ghana Railway Company (GRC) is facing imminent collapse as its main patrons seeks alternative means of transport following the prolonged strike of the rail workers.The Ghana Manganese company is reportedly planning to sign an agreement with a haulage company to cart its products.But the Managing Director of the GRC, Mr. Rufus Quaye, says the industrial action by the railway workers could collapse the company.He has therefore made a passionate appeal to the striking workers to resume work to save the ailing company from collapse.He said the company needed to resume operations to prevent the manganese company from engaging the services of a haulage company.The MD told Joy News that the grievances of the workers was being looked into and impressed on them to soften their stance.Mr. Rufus Quaye gave the assurance that the workers would not be victimised.Railway workers have been on strike for the past three weeks to back their demands for unpaid salaries and improved conditions of service.They are demanding a 150 per cent salary increase as a precondition to go back to work.
