General Manager of the Golden Tulip Accra,Herbert Friese, at the weekend stated at the Achimota Golf Club that the Golden Tulip Hospitality Group was exploring opportunities of opening new hospitality facilities in the country.
The new facilities are the City Hotel in Kumasi and the Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi. Both facilities, he noted, were adjacent to golf courses and therefore offered the hotels and their guests great opportunities to be involved with the game.
Mr Friese was speaking at the prize-giving ceremony that climaxed the annual Golden Tulip Accra Golf Tournament held at the Achimota Golf Club. The 18-hole, one-day stableford event was held in commemoration of Golden Tulip Accra’s 15th anniversary and attracted 105 golfers from various clubs in the country.
Winner of the main event was G. Sai with 44 points emerged. His runners-up were E. Dontoh, 41 points, and Nick Raliston Brown, 40 points.
Ladies category winner was J. Hill (41 points, handicap 18). She was followed in second and third places respectively by Victoria Adjei (40 points, handicap 14) and Clara Price (37 points. Handicap 19).
Sai received a trophy, a Golden Tulip rotating trophy, a hamper and Golden Paradise gift voucher (Weekend for two at Golden Tulip Accra) as main event winner. Eight other male and six ladies competitors were rewarded.
The prizes were presented by Mr H. Friese, Mrs Simone Friese, Mr Francis Jud (Financial Controller of Golden Tulip Accra) and Mrs Bertha de Graft-Johnson, Sales and Marketing Manager.
