Facilities for houses of chiefs around the country will be seeing some rehabilitation and expansion.
President Mahama made this known during a two day Central region tour which saw him inspecting some major development projects in the region.
President Mahama also asked for cooperation from the chiefs in implementing the livelihood improvement programme in galamsey communities in the region.
"I cannot fight this fight alone. We need the cooperation of our chiefs and our DCEs and district mining committees to make sure we are able to win this fight against galamsey," he pleaded.
He said the government has introduced a new anti-galamsey effort which will give an alternative livelihood to galamsey operators.
Meanwhile president of the Central Regional house chiefs Dasebre Kwebu Eusi has admonished president Mahama to fight the canker of corruption.
He urged the president to use the law to stop the canker which has been the bane of Ghana's development.
