Government will decide the future of the national carrier, Ghana International Airlines by the middle of next month.
An Interim Management Committee has been established to provide government with the best option on what should be done.
Deputy Transport Minister, Dzifa Attivor disclosed this to Joy Business on Tuesday.
One of the terms of reference for the IMC is to reconcile the account of GIA and advice the government accordingly.
According to her, the government cannot trace monies for ticket sales, adding it is necessary for the IMC to investigate that.
The committee, she maintains, has a month to come out with its recommendations.
In the meantime the government says existing passengers are being transferred to other airlines whilst GIA’s creditors have been notified of its current dormant state.
Ghana International Airlines has remained grounded more than a month after volcanic ash clouds disrupted international flights.
Management then blamed its failure to fly on the presence of the volcanic ash clouds, and it later emerged that some of the airline's planes had been grounded.
