Ghanaian Afrobeat and highlife artiste Muzic Mensah is steadily emerging as one of the standout names of 2025, with his single ‘Ankwanoma’ gaining strong momentum across streaming platforms, broadcast media and social spaces.
Since its release, Ankwanoma has crossed 470,000 combined streams on major digital platforms, including Boomplay, Apple Music, Spotify, Audiomack and YouTube.
Boomplay accounts for the bulk of the numbers, with over 400,000 streams, while the song peaked at number 15 on the platform’s Top 100 Chart. It also secured a Top 10 mid-year ranking in Ghana and a Top 20 mid-year ranking in Nigeria for 2025, reflecting its cross-border appeal.
Beyond streaming, the song has made a notable impact on social media and radio. Ankwanoma has been used in more than 15,000 TikTok videos, while clocking over 20,000 Apple Music radio spins, signalling consistent airplay support and growing editorial attention.
Muzic Mensah has supported the record with an extensive 20-stop media tour, spanning radio stations, television platforms and podcast appearances across the country.
The sustained visibility has helped keep the song in active conversation months after its release, positioning it as one of the most recognisable records of the year.
Produced and engineered by Y Shart Beatz, with visuals directed by Mista Morgan, Ankwanoma features Kwame Yogot and blends Amapiano-inspired Afrobeat with Highlife elements.
The fusion offers a modern sound that remains grounded in Ghanaian musical traditions, a balance that has resonated strongly with listeners.
The song’s success has also translated into awards momentum. Muzic Mensah recently picked up six nominations at the GMA USA, a development that points to growing international recognition and further strengthens his case ahead of the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
With solid streaming numbers, chart presence, strong media support and expanding international attention, Ankwanoma has firmly established itself as a breakout record for 2025.
For Muzic Mensah, the run of the song marks a defining moment in his career and places him in serious contention for recognition across key TGMA categories this year.
