Power outage at the Ghana Water Company headworks at Weija has forced the company to cut water supply to residents of Accra West.The company says electricity supply to the headworks was cut last night resulting from a malfunctioning Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) transformer in the area.
Communications manager at the Ghana Water Company, Stanley Martey said the company is unsure when supply will be resuming.He however told Joy News that provision has been made to supply water to hospitals and other essential areas.“…after power is restored, it will take a lot time before power gets to the homes of people…”Meanwhile the Operations Director of ECG, Tetteh Okine says engineers have begun work on the faulty transformer to restore supply to the area.
