Ghana's lead striker Asamoah Gyan and Ghana's first choice first stopper Richard Kingson will go head-to-head in a game with implications for the reputations of both players.
Blackpool and Sunderland meet in the English premier league and it pits two players who have been central for the Black Stars in recent years against each other.
Kingson has established a reputation as a good goalkeeper having finally got the chance to play regular football at Blackpool. But it was his error in the game against West Brom that gifted the home side their second goal in that game.
Gyan meanwhile is flying high at Sunderland. His goal against Newcastle was his seventh of the season but with Darren Bent having departed, Gyan who arrived for big money will be under pressure beginning this weekend to prove he is worth every penny of the 13.5 million pounds that the club paid for him.
Kingson had the better of Gyan in their first meeting, pulling off a string of fine saves at the Stadium of Light as Gyan served notice that for all his maturity in front of goal these days, he is still prone to the occasional spectacular misses.
