Ghana Premier League side, Hearts of Oak, will reconstitute a new Board of Directors on March 27, 2024, at its Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The club dissolved its board on Tuesday after reviewing its financial statement submitted by auditors.
JoySports understands the club, in its last AGM in October 2023, had planned to dissolve the board in early February 2024, but due to circumstances beyond their control, a decision was taken on Tuesday, February 27, instead.
The now-defunct Board of Directors had about four meetings in efforts to put right structures before constituting the new board.
Auditors had not concluded and submitted their report, hence the decision to have the final reports before announcing the dissolution.
JoySports sources say the Auditors submitted their reports about two weeks ago, and it took about two meetings to conclude the review of the financial statements.
At the board's last meeting yesterday, the financial statement review ended and an announcement was made to end the tenure of the Togbe Afede XIV-led board.
We understand that the one of the reasons for the dissolution is the incessant demands from supporters for the club to dissolve and reconstitute its board.
The constant demonstrations against the leadership, especially the recent one last week which was held about two weeks ago in Accra, led the club to take the decision.
Togbe Afede XIV and his team are of the opinion that, the club should be managed in the interest of supporters, hence the decision to adhere to their calls.
The former Board Chairman, asked outgoing board members to suggest potential replacements to serve as board of directors.
No names have been put forward yet per JoySports sources. They are, however, convince a new group will be selected before the AGM on March 27, 2024.
The outgoing members of the board of directors were:
Togbe Afede XIV - Board Chairman
Frank Nelson Nwokolo - Member
Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe - Member
Dr Ivy Heward Mills - Member
Professor Kofi Kumador - Member
Alhassan Andani - Member
