2021 MTN FA Cup champions Accra Hearts of Oak suffered a shock early exit from this season’s competition after a 1–0 defeat to Division Two side True Life FC at the Round 64 stage.
The Phobians, fresh off a morale-boosting win over Vision FC on Sunday, had hoped to build on that momentum at the Kpobiman Sports Complex. Instead, they were stunned late in the game.
Head coach Didi Dramani opted to rotate his squad, handing opportunities to several fringe players. The decision backfired as True Life FC capitalised in the 78th minute, scoring the only goal of the match to seal a famous victory.
