High Spirit Dancers was crowned winners of the 2010 Malta Guinness Street Dance Africa Competition held at the Accra International Conference Centre Friday night.
They beat five other competitors, No Limit Crew, Bugi Bust, B-13, Rocker of All Time and Heroes Dance Group to win the sole ticket to represent Ghana at the Pan Africa finals to be held in Lagos, Nigeria. The winners in that event will represent Africa at the world finals in London later this year.
This year’s event launched in March this year combed through all the regional capitals of Ghana in search of some of the country’s finest dance group and after several months of regional competitions, the six groups made it to the grand finale.
The grand finale was a delight to watch and one could hardly believe the worth of talent in the youth of Ghana.
Contrary to expectations that it was only the dancers who were going to battle it out on the competition stage, their fans were seen in separate packets battling each other with cheer songs and moves; This wet the appetite of the hundreds that trooped into the Accra International Conference Centre for the expectant finale.
