The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is not considering a by-election to replace Executive Council (ExCo) member Gifty Oware-Mensah, Joy Sports understands.
Recent media reports suggested that the Berry Ladies' bankroller had travelled abroad following the New Patriotic Party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections and was unlikely to return anytime soon.
These claims further fuelled speculation that she had abandoned her role on the ExCo, prompting discussions about a possible by-election.
However, reliable sources confirm that Oware-Mensah remains actively involved in her duties and has not vacated her position, contrary to the widespread rumours. The claims of a by-election to replace her, therefore, hold no merit.
Oware-Mensah was elected as the Women’s Premier League representative on the ExCo on October 5, 2024. She also serves as the Chairperson of the Black Queens’ Management Committee.
