Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom has arrived in Ukraine to sign for giants Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal. The 21-year-old will undergo a medical test on Tuesday before signing the deal. His Swiss side FC Basel are expected to swoop US$7m from the deal while Inkoom’s wages will triple from what he currently earns. The former Asante Kotoko defender left his Swiss club’s training in Spain on Monday night by a special jet to Ukraine. If he passes the medical test he will sign a two-year contract. The Ukrainian top-flight side are currently enjoying a period of financial prosperity, and the club has revealed the Ghanaian right-back as their first hopeful acquisition. Inkoom has previously garnered the interest of Spanish giants Barcelona, and so his possible switch to Dnipro would be seen as a massive coup for the club. He played for Ghana at the World Cup and his stock has risen since then.
