The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak, has announced the renewal of the curfew imposed on Binduri Township and surrounding communities in the Upper East Region.
The curfew, which takes effect from Monday, September 8, will be enforced daily from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. It follows advice from the National Security Council and is backed by an Executive Instrument.
In a statement, the Ministry urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and the youth to remain calm and use peaceful, non-violent approaches in addressing challenges in the area.
The statement also reminded residents that the ban on carrying arms, ammunition, offensive weapons, and the movement of motorbikes remains in force.
Additionally, the wearing of smocks has been prohibited in the township and its environs. The Ministry warned that anyone found flouting these directives would be arrested and prosecuted.
