An Accra Circuit Court presided over by Justice Georgina Mensah-Datse could not continue the case involving Nana Kofi Yirenkyi aka Jesus One Touch on Wednesday as he appeared very feeble in court. The trial judge ordered that the accused should be sent to the hospital immediately for medical attention as his health matters first. Nana Kofi Yirenkyi, the founder and General Overseer of the Jesus Blood Prophetic Ministry situated at Oblogo was to open his defence in court today but appeared very frail when proceedings commenced. His counsel Mr Adomako Acheampong was not present in court as well. The accused is standing trial for defiling his ten-year-old daughter Belinda Yirenkyi, and has since been remanded in police custody. The case which has taken a dramatic turn with the involvement of the Attorney General's Department has been adjourned to the 9th of July by which the accused is expected to be feeling better. Surprisingly, sympathizers of the accused who normally throng the court premises to render their support were visible absent in court today. The accused was aided by some policemen as he looked too weak to walk on his own. Story by Maame Efua Enos/Asempa fm/Ghana
