The Chairperson of Breast Care International (BCI), Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, has urged high school students to take part in the campaign against breast cancer.
According to Dr Addai, students should make themselves available for the course as it is the deadliest cancer in women.

BCI president was speaking to the students at the Kumasi Wesley Girls’ Senior High School in Kumasi during a free breast cancer screening and education.
Dr. Addai believes children will become knowledge as they grow up if they are educated about the myth and other suspicious beliefs about cancer.

Most women think that breast cancer is caused by sorcery and can only be treated in a spiritual way. Dr. Addai says this belief has put innocent lives into their early graves.
"After unsuccessful treatments, they will end up in the hospital where a little can be done to help them," she said.

She said, knowledge provided to children and shared among families about the disease will help reduce premature deaths among breast cancer patients.
Dr. Addai advised students to visit the hospital early if they find unusual lumps in their breasts for treatment.

The headmistress of the Kumasi Wesley Girls’ Senior High School, Very Rev Monica Afriyie Ntiamoah, also urged students to adopt the Self Examination (SBE) method to periodically check for unusual lumps.
