Questions are emerging over whether African countries must subsidize the cost of decoder for citizens as the continent prepares to switch from analogue television broadcasting to digital.
This was prompted during discussions at the ongoing Digital Migration Dialogue organized by Multichoice Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Journalists from across the continent are being trained on possible implication of the switch to digital television broadcasting and the need to hold African governments accountable to stick to the 2015 date set out by International Communication Union-ITU.
