A loyal listener of Joy FM, Agyeman Joseph, has been chosen to join the Drive Time team for their South Africa trip slated for June.
He was selected out of three finalists that took part in a quiz on Friday, May 24, 2024 on Joy FM.
Joseph beat off competition from Bertha and Esi after three rounds of questions about Joy FM and its programmes.
These three finalists were chosen from a raft of entries that poured in for the competition a few weeks ago. The listeners were asked to tell why they deserved to be chosen for the trip. The best 10 were selected and were later whittled down to 5.

In June, Agyeman Joseph will join the Drive Time team to transmit live from South Africa. They will also tour some iconic sites in the country. This is part of a juicy package of the trip in partnership with Adansi Travels.
Drive Time on Joy FM is the ultimate choice of late afternoon programme in Ghana. Hosted by Lexis Bill, one of the most dynamic, brilliant and wittiest broadcasters in Ghana, the show is a mélange of good music, humour, great talk, education and unlimited fun.
The trip to South Africa includes a return flight, hotel accommodation, daily breakfast, Joy FM SA Drive Time show, among others.
Speaking on Drive Time on Joy FM, the Chief Executive Officer of Adansi Travels, Gideon Asare said the Drive Time component of the trip which starts on June 3, 2024 is an opportunity to connect with people in South Africa.
“Most of the time we go and we just visit the places of interest but this time we want them to connect with the people, network and chat and know what is going on. And we know the fun part is also very key; the experience, the cultural exchange are all part of it,” he noted.
While inviting people to join the trip, Gideon explained that there are different packages for those who are interested in taking part in this experience.
“It starts with the 5-day trip and then it extends to one week. So we have different combinations; people who do not have all the time in this world but would want to be part. So they will go with us, five days we are done. Then we also have people who have more time so they will explore other nearby cities like Suncity so they join us later in Johannesburg or some might also want to explore Cape Town in addition to Johannesburg,” he said.
Patrons will also get free tickets to attend the Legends and Legacy Ball in South Africa on the June 8, 2024 at the Sandton Convention Centre.
There will be a special appearance by legendary singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka. Also performing are Mafikizolo, and Ghanaian Afrobeats stars King Promise and Camidoh.
