Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament for Assin South and a former Deputy Education Minister, has criticised President John Dramani Mahama over the return of erratic power supply, popularly known as dumsor.
Speaking in an interview with Metro TV on Friday, February 28, Mr Fordjour dismissed President Mahama’s claims of having resolved dumsor during his first tenure.
He argued that the ongoing power outages contradict the president’s assertion and have left many Ghanaians struggling.
“We are barely two months into President Mahama’s administration, and the power supply is not stable. There is dumsor here and dumsor there. Hairdressers are crying over the challenge, and barbers are also complaining,” Mr Fordjour stated.
He further suggested that the president may have been misled into making his claims, adding, “Whoever wrote that speech for him to read must have misled him.”
The erratic power supply has sparked concerns among businesses and households, with many calling on the government to take immediate action.
Mr Fordjour urged the Mahama administration to acknowledge the crisis and implement urgent measures to restore a stable electricity supply.
