Ex Ghana player, Samuel Osei Kufuor says he disagrees with the Ghana Football Association’s decision to hand the vacant Black Stars coaching job to an expatriate.
Three European coaches- Avram Grant, Michel Pont and Juan Ignacio Jimenez-have all been interviewed and announcement on the next Ghana coach expected soon.
But Kuffour has questioned the pedigree of all the coaches and wants the GFA to consider Ibrahim Tanko, an ex-international and current assistant coach of Cameroon and former Ghana player Otto Addo.
“All the coaches who were interviewed who are they? What have they done? Grant took Chelsea to the Champions League final but for me that was not enough,” the Bayern Munich legend told TV3 Talk Sports programme.
“ I really wish a Ghanaian can take over, they should give the job to Tanko and Otto Addo and that is my opinion which I know people will disagree with me.
“I think the two can blend together, they are Ghanaians and they have been in coaching for some time now and I believe they can do the job so we should give them a chance.”
